The Lady Eagles Take 2 Golds in the 2018 PowerAde State Games

The Lady Eagles placed a team in each of the girls divisions in the youth 2018 Powerade state games. The camo (supporting SOWF), black and silver faced our local rivals the Jr. Canes in their home red jerseys. This would be a best of three games to win the gold medal.

First up was the 12's as a first for the Carolina Eagles in the 2017-2018 season making it also a first for state games. Game 1 was a learning period for both teams as you could tell they were learning to play together again.

The 12's spread things out and worked as a team to take all three games for the gold medal. For some of these ladies it would be the last time playing together as they will split to U14 and U12 for the 2018-2019 season.

The 19's played after every U12 game and the games were much closer. All of the 3 U19 games had to be played to decide the winner and each games score was 2-1. The Jr. Canes took game one scoring two goals in the first period. After that the next 8 periods were hard working end to end action. The Ladies took game 2 and 3 scoring the winning goals in the last 30 seconds of each game. The 2018 gold went to the Lady Eagles.
