The Carolina Lady Eagles and Rush Girls Hockey work together in the Carolina's

The Carolina Lady Eagles and Rush Girls Hockey work together to create the most competitive all girls teams in the Carolina’s

Wake Forest and Charlotte, NC- The Lady Eagles ( and Rush Girls hockey( have added to a relationship that binds the youth programs even closer this season. Last season the Jr. Checkers rebranded to match the Rush junior program and now the current Team Carolina girls program will also rebranding as Rush Girls’ Hockey. The same great coaches and staff now combined with a great organization down at the Xi center in Charlotte.

There is always a great rivalry between the Eagles and Rush and now that will exist in Juniors, Youth and now all girls hockey. With that rivalry is also a common goal to provide the best AA hockey teams in the Carolina’s, that now include girls. Who knows the NC cup may have a whole new angle this season.

The Lady Eagles and Rush Girls Hockey helped recruit/create a new all girls division of the EJEPL for the 2018-2019 season along with NOVA, Nashville, Tampa and possibly Atlanta to bring the first all girls hockey league to the Southeastern district. The Southern division teams will compete for a division leader in the regular season, but play as allies against the other EJEPL girls divisions in Showcases during the year.  As with our Rush and Eagles youth programs, this is exclusive in the Raleigh and Charlotte markets. The programs will still maintain teams in the CHL and CBHL girls divisions.

The 2018-2019 season will be positioned to have the best teams at districts in March of 2019. The Lady Eagles will continue to field a regional U19AA(midget) team made up of players from all over the southeast. Both organizations will field U14AA teams, but come together for a combined U16AA team to have the highest level of players from both organizations on the ice next season.

The growth of girls hockey in the south is finally here with great organizations allowing girls to continue competitive hockey without heading north or leaving hockey early for other sports. Dedicated and caring staffs in multiple markets are now giving their time and effort to grow the sport.
